With the growth in the area, a winding oyster shell road was constructed in 1910, near the present Atlantic Boulevard. A boardwalk era began in 1915 and 1916, bringing dance pavilions, restaurants, shooting galleries and other forms of entertainment into this beach community. In 1925, Pablo Beach was renamed, Jacksonville Beach.
