I Ain’t Afraid – Halloween 5K & 10K

Halloween is just around the corner, as well as Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. This October, to celebrate Halloween and bring more awareness to Breast Cancer, a virtual 5K and 10K will be hosted. I Ain’t Afraid – Halloween 5K & 10K will be coming to the Jacksonville area this October. This event is showcasing to breast cancer that “We Ain’t Afraid!”

 

For participating in this event, you will receive a fun, 3.5 inch I Ain’t Afraid finisher’s medal. The medals will be shipped out at the end of September. This event begins on October 1st and runs through the end of the month. You have the entire month of October to complete your race.  YOU get to pick the course and you time yourself for this event—after you have finished, you will report your finishing time.

 

This event is meant to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Research and to tell breast cancer that WE AIN’T AFRAID. The cost of this event is $18, which includes your medal and shipping. At least $4 of every registration will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) is a nonprofit organization. They are committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. They provide critical funding for cancer research worldwide to provide advances in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, metastasis and survivorship. In the 2014-2015 year, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation will award $47 million in annual grants to over 235 scientists from top universities and medical institutions around the world. The thousands of men and women suffering from breast cancer can depend on BCRF for working toward a cure.
