David Bruce and Mozart with Peter Wright


The Florida Chamber Music Project is offering the experience of live classical music in an intimate chamber music setting for residents of St. Johns County, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Clay County and the surrounding areas of Northeast Florida. The program is held at the Ponte Vedra Music Hall in Jacksonville, Florida. Coming January 24th is David Bruce and Mozart with Peter Wright. David Bruce’s “Gumboots” and Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet will be performed. Ticket prices are only $23 per ticket.


Peter Wright is a musician in the Jacksonville Symphony, playing the clarinet. He has been a member of the Jacksonville Symphony since 1974. He has been featured with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in Debussy’s Premiere Rhapsody for Clarinet and Orchestra and Weber’s Concertino for Clarinet and Orchestra. He also performed concertos by Copland, Mozart and Finzi. Aside from the Jacksonville Symphony, Wright is a member of the JSO woodwind quintet. Peter is on the Faculty at FCCJ and UNF as the clarinet instructor.


The primary purpose of the Florida Chamber Music Project is to foster and encourage the presentation of classical chamber music, to present and sponsor presentation of classical chamber music by highly qualified professional musicians, to increase awareness of classical chamber music in the State of Florida in general and in North Florida in particular, and to provide educational institutions with opportunities to educate students of all kinds concerning the nature and value of classical chamber music and its performance.


The composer of the World Premier music for the Florida Chamber Music Project, Piotr Szewczyk is from Warsaw, Poland. He is a violin player for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Szewczyk holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in violin and composition from the University of Cincinnati College—Conservatory of Music.
